The national army was built up in 1933 after Hitlers seizure of power and renamed the wehrmacht.The various branches were built up in Secert, but later publicly paraded once they were up to a respectable standerd.The airforce was reborn as the Luftwaffe, the navy redesigned and renamed Kriegsmarines, and the Army renamed the Heer. At the outbreak of war, the Army numbered 2,000,000 men, organized into 106 divisions. After the Polish Campaign, its full strenght was 3,000,000 organized in 150 divisions.Of these, 10 were armoured, 4 were motorized,3 were moutain;and one was cavalry. The luftwaffe supplied a parachute division and the Waffen SS 3 notional divisions.
